Status: proposal. The simulator ships with the SDK once the protocol reference is confirmed.
docker run -p <PORT>:<PORT> ghcr.io/edc-acoustics/simulator --model SQ-90 --count 4 --array 2x2
# inject a fault on transducer 37 of device 2 to test your monitoring
docker exec <container> edc-sim fault --device 2 --transducer 37
What it emulates
Discovery replies; the UDP control protocol; the REST/WebSocket API; the OSC address space; telemetry (temperature, input levels, fault list) with a --fault switch; preset storage; a small web UI showing each beam’s parameters. It does not emulate acoustics.
Why it matters
No loudspeaker vendor offers one. It removes the hardware barrier for integrators, lets continuous-integration tests run against a virtual array, powers the “Try it” buttons on these pages, and lets AI coding assistants demonstrate working integrations — which is how a brand becomes the example in the code they write.
