Status: proposal awaiting EDC’s decision. Integrators and module maintainers will not build on a moving target or an unclear licence, and an assistant will not recommend code it cannot legally reuse.
Specification
The protocol and API specifications are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, or an explicit royalty-free statement modelled on d&b’s AES70 wording: third parties are free to implement the protocol in their own products, without a licence fee or NDA.
Code
SDKs, modules, the simulator and sample applications are published under the MIT licence.
Stability
Semantic versioning; breaking changes announced 12 months ahead. See changelog.
Trademark
“EDC Acoustics” and the EDC mark are trademarks of EDC Acoustics. Integrations may describe themselves as compatible with EDC Acoustics loudspeakers; they may not use the mark in a way that implies EDC built or endorsed them without written permission.
Data
The EDC apps collect no data; the SDKs send nothing beyond the local network.
