About EDC Acoustics

We design sound with intent.

EDC Acoustics is an acoustic science and technology company focused on controlling how sound behaves in real spaces — loudspeaker systems, spatial-audio technologies and control algorithms used where conventional approaches fail.

EDC Acoustics is an acoustic science and technology company focused on controlling how sound behaves in real spaces. For more than a decade we have developed and delivered advanced loudspeaker systems, spatial-audio technologies and control algorithms used in venues where conventional approaches fail. Our work sits at the intersection of acoustic physics, signal processing and perceptual audio. This is not research for its own sake. It is engineering applied to real-world problems.

Where we started

EDC was founded in Australia by audio engineers and originally manufactured DSP processors and Class-D amplifiers — over one million channels to date. That experience in processing and amplification is why every S-Series transducer has its own amplifier and processing channel, and why the company moved from selling hardware boxes to defining loudspeakers in software. EDC Acoustics LLC in Plano, Texas, is the licensee that manufactures and sells EDC loudspeakers in the United States; EDC technologies and algorithms are also licensed by other national and international brands.

Proven at scale

EDC technologies have been developed, refined and deployed over many years across demanding environments. Thousands of EDC-enabled products have been brought to market, and our systems operate daily in venues where intelligibility, consistency and control are critical: Sydney Central Station, Mastercard’s New York headquarters, Davidson College’s Belk Arena, churches, corporate campuses and touring inventories. This depth of deployment lets us design with confidence, not assumptions.

Trusted beyond our own brand

EDC technologies and algorithms are licensed by multiple national and international brands, which integrate EDC intellectual property into their own products and platforms. That level of trust requires reliability, repeatability and technical rigour: our work must perform not once, but every time, across thousands of installations. Licensing relationships are built on confidence, and confidence is built on results.

Control, not correction

Most loudspeaker systems accept uncontrolled sound as inevitable and manage the consequences through processing, acoustic treatment or architectural compromise. EDC takes a fundamentally different approach: we control sound behaviour at the point of generation. By shaping where sound goes, how it is perceived and where it does not belong, we reduce the need for corrective measures later in the signal chain — and deliver clarity, immersion and consistency without excessive loudness, oversized systems or trial-and-error commissioning.

Designed to be predictable

EDC systems are engineered to behave predictably in real environments. Augmented-reality modelling lets sound behaviour be visualised before installation; coverage, sound pressure level and frequency response are evaluated in context. That reduces uncertainty for designers, installers and venue owners. When sound is predictable, decisions are easier and outcomes are repeatable.

Independent recognition

EDC Acoustics technologies have been independently recognised by respected industry publications and professional organisations. These awards reflect the practical impact of our work on long-standing challenges in sound control, spatial accuracy and immersive audio.

Precision earns trust

Experience is what allows us to deliver on our promises. Focused precision is not an aspiration. It is the result of years of engineering, deployment and refinement.

Hear what happens when nothing else interferes.

An EDC session is a technical evaluation of sound behaviour, not a sales demonstration. See reflections reduced, coverage stabilised and spatial accuracy preserved — modelled first, then measured.
