EDC Acoustics develops technologies that control how sound behaves in real spaces. Rather than broadcasting sound broadly and correcting problems after they occur, our systems shape sound behaviour at the source — controlling where sound goes, how it is perceived, and where it does not belong.
Why conventional approaches fall short
Most audio systems radiate sound broadly into a space.
Sound interacts with walls, ceilings and architectural surfaces before it reaches listeners, creating reverberation, echoes, uneven coverage, unstable spatial imaging and environmental noise spill. Additional processing, acoustic treatment and complex system designs are then used to manage the consequences. EDC technologies address these problems by preventing them.
One principle, multiple dimensions
Sound should be controlled before it enters the space.
All EDC technologies are built on this single idea. Each focuses on a different dimension of sound behaviour — direction, perception, containment — and together they provide a level of precision that conventional loudspeaker systems cannot achieve.

A method of controlling acoustic radiation in three dimensions so that every listener receives the same level, the same frequency response and the same spatial image — and the room is left out of it.

Controls how sound is perceived
A method of reproducing sound so that spatial imaging, level and frequency response are consistent for every listener within a defined volume — sound that originates inside the listening space rather than at its edges.

Controls where sound does not go
Loudspeaker technologies that confine sound to a defined fraction of a sphere — a quarter (Quadoid) or an eighth (Octoid) — across the full audio band, in a compact form. New technology, coming soon.

EDC's software tools predict, validate and verify sound behaviour across an entire audience before a system is installed — then measure the room and close the loop. Pro is the full design environment; Rapid deploys with the same engine.
Independent technologies, complementary outcomes
Each EDC technology can be deployed on its own.
