Westport Baptist Church
Scattered loudspeakers pointing in every direction made the pastor sound like a voice down a hallway. A pair of SQ-90s and one SS-3 now cover the floor, above and below the balcony, from one position.

Hailed as a genuine church family that worships together, Westport Baptist Church offers both modern and traditional services to its community in Denver, North Carolina. Teaching each week requires sound that everyone in the room can hear — without a single echo.
Brief
Several loudspeakers, all pointed in different directions, were scattered around the sanctuary. It sounded as if a voice was coming down a hallway when the pastor spoke.
Solution
All of them were replaced with a pair of SQ-90s and a single SS-3 for low-frequency warmth. From one location, internal beam steering covers the entire floor, including above and below the balcony.
Outcome
A much more present, near-field-sounding system in an ambient room. Each worshipper can be fully engaged throughout the service.
Outcome
- Entire floor, including above and below the balcony, covered from a single location using internal beam steering
- A present, near-field sound in an ambient room
- "No craning heads for clarity necessary"
