Beam-steering loudspeakers

SC-90SL

Slim-line 90-channel column — full control from 350 Hz, 147 mm deep.

The largest slim column — 90 individually amplified transducers in a line 1,720 mm tall and only 147 mm deep, with vertical control from 350 Hz for long throws in rooms where a standard column cannot project from the wall.

  • 90 channels and four beams in a cabinet only 147 mm deep
  • Vertical control from 350 Hz for long throws and reverberant rooms
  • The slim format of the SC-90, on the same U-bracket family

The SC-90SL carries the SC-90’s ninety channels in the slim format: 81 high-frequency and 9 mid-range drivers, each with its own amplifier and processing channel, in a cabinet 1,720 mm tall and 147 mm deep. It is the model to specify when a room needs vertical control from 350 Hz but the architecture will not accept a 330 mm-deep column — a narrow pilaster, a heritage wall, a flush position beside a screen.

A note on the name. SL is a variant suffix on the column series, not a separate range: the slim models are the SC-30SL, SC-60SL and SC-90SL. Earlier marketing material called them the SL-30, SL-60 and SL-90; the datasheets and this site use the suffix form.

  • cad Revit families and DWG — our position we do not publish native Revit families or DWG. The STEP solids are the manufacturer's own models and import directly into Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks, Rhino and AutoCAD, which covers most coordination work. If a project needs a Revit family or a DWG for a specific model, ask us and it will be produced for that project rather than guessed at from a generic block.
  • compliance Voice-alarm and conformity position — our position A monitored version of every model is built for EN 60849 voice-alarm systems, but the loudspeakers are not separately certified — voice-alarm approval is granted to the installed system, not to a component, so there is no product certificate to publish. Bring the certifying body in at design stage and we will supply the technical data the system certification needs.

  • gll EASE data — exported per configuration from the EDC Pro app — our position We do not publish a fixed GLL library. A software-defined cabinet has an effectively unlimited number of dispersion patterns, so a handful of pre-baked ones would not describe the system you are designing. Design the coverage in the Pro app and export 3D balloon data per beam and per array for EASE. Ask us if you need an export before you have the app.

Questions about the S-Series

What is the frequency range?
The SC columns are rated 100 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), and the SQ-90 and the slim SC-30SL, SC-60SL and SC-90SL 80 Hz to 20 kHz. The SS-1 and SS-3 subwoofers extend the system to 25 Hz. Datasheets are on each product page.
How loud are they?
Published figures are 95 dB (SC-30), 101 dB (SC-60) and 104 dB (SC-90) at 10 metres for a single cabinet, and 106 dB at 16 metres for the SQ-90, configuration dependent; cabinets cluster horizontally and vertically to form larger arrays that behave as a single source. The figures are long-term peak, dB Leq (linear), and are crest-factor independent because they are peak values. We do not publish the convergent 1-metre maximum the industry usually quotes: converging ninety drivers into a single beam would give roughly 150 dB at 1 metre, which is not a condition these loudspeakers are ever operated in and tells a designer nothing about real coverage.
Can they be used outdoors?
Yes. Standard cabinets are rated IP55. A weatherised version of every model is available and is rated IP65, with stainless-steel and aluminium hardware, a waterproof grille lining and IP65 network and power connectors. All models operate from −20 °C to +50 °C. These are our own ratings — the enclosures are not third-party tested to IEC 60529, so if a project requires a certified rating, raise it at specification stage.
Do they take Dante or AES3 digital audio?
Every model has an analogue XLR line input and output as standard, with an optional AES3 stereo input or an RJ45 Dante input. Two channels are carried over Dante or AES67, and either can be assigned to any of the four beams. Control is on a separate network port by default; if a project needs control and Dante on a single RJ45, ask us. See the Dante and AES67 page.
How are they mounted?
Columns carry eight M10 points and can be mounted vertically or horizontally with the U-brackets; subwoofers carry sixteen M10 points and a pole socket; the SQ-90 uses side and rear rigging tubes and the touring rigging frame. Rigging drawings are in Resources. We do not manufacture the rigging hardware — the brackets, tubes and touring frame are made by specialist suppliers, and the working load limits and the standard met come from the maker's documentation. Ask us or your distributor for the certificate covering the item you are specifying.
Can the system report faults?
A monitored version reports transducer, thermal and amplifier faults over the network, and the cabinets carry an inbuilt measurement microphone. This is the version specified for transport and voice-alarm applications. The telemetry interface is not yet documented for third-party systems — see the developer pages for what is and is not specified.
