# Changelog & versioning policy

## Policy (proposed)

- The protocol, the REST/WebSocket API and each SDK are versioned independently with **semantic versioning**.
- **Breaking changes are announced at least 12 months ahead** and shipped in a major version; the previous major is supported for that period.
- Firmware release notes state the protocol version each build speaks.
- This page has an RSS feed once the first release ships.
